Overview

This product utilizes the immunochromatography method and is a convenient and rapid detection device. It

features fast detection speed, high specificity and accuracy. The best way to reduce food allergies is to avoid

eating foods containing allergens. This product can not only detect trace amounts of mollusk allergens in food,

but also be applied to quality control during the food processing, such as incoming material, production process

and finished product inspection. The monitoring of food allergens has become an increasingly important item for

food safety management agencies in various countries.

Sensitivity

For solid/liquid sample the sensitivity is 0.01 ppm mollusks protein.

For environment swab the sensitivity is 0.005 μg /100 cm2 .

Note: LOD(limit of determination) = Sensitivity X Dilution Ratio

Specificity

This product has no cross-reaction withshrimp, fish, mutton, beef, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, bitter almonds,

eggs, peanuts, soybeans, sesame seeds, wheat, and rice, but it does have cross-reactivity with oysters, clams,

hairy clams, scallops, fresh clams, razor clams, sand clams, hairy clams, white clams, red island clams, razor clam,

abalones, squids, oysters, scallops, clams.

Please store the test kit at 2-8 ℃,avoid direct sunlight. The expiry date is shown in the outer packing.

Sample Preparation

Notices before test

 Both allergen dust in the environment and contaminated equipment may affect experimental results. In

order to avoid contamination during operation, it is recommended to distinguish between the sample

preparation area and the detection area. Before sampling, please clean all equipment and working surfaces

with 75% ethanol and wear gloves during the operation to ensure the accuracy of the test.

 If the concentration of mollusks protein in the sample is too high or the sample is too thick, it is easy to make

the test strip ineffective. It is recommended to dilute the sample liquid at a higher ratio first. If the test

sample contains pure mollusks protein, it is suggested to dilute it an additional 100 times after following the

extraction steps in the instruction manual.

 When sampling, make sure everything clean for test accuracy.

Preparation of samples

Note: All materials used in sampling step should be cleaned before use, to ensure the accuracy of result.

1. Liquid food/ drinks (Dilution ratio 10x)

Measure 50 μL of sample with 450 μL buffer into a 1.5 mL centrifugal tube and mix well.

2. Solid food (Dilution ratio 10x)

2.1. Weigh 0.3 g of sample (ground finely) and resuspend with 3 mL diluent buffer into a 5 mL centrifugal

tube.

2.2. Vortex/ mix for at least 30 s.

2.3. Leave sample mixture to settle for 1 minute.

2.4. The supernatant is the solution to be tested.

3. Environmental monitoring (Swab of optional order)

3.1 Moisten the swab with distilled water.

3.2 Daub the area to be tested with wet swab (100 cm2 recommended)

3.3 Transfer 500 μL of diluent buffer into a 1.5 mL centrifugal tube.

3.4 Place the swab into the 1.5 mL centrifugal tube and stir with the diluent buffer at least 30 s.

3.5 Remove the swab, take the supernatant as the sample to be tested.

Assay Test

1.

Restore the kit to room temperature (20-25 ℃) and please read the instruction manual completely before

the testing.

2.

Take out a test strip. Please handle the coloured sticker part only to avoid touching the reaction zone.

3.

Insert the test strip into the 1.5 mL micro-centrifuge tube with 200 μL sample testing solution, "MAX" side

down. Do not allow liquid height to exceed the arrow.

4.

The results should be read at exactly 10 minutes. Interpretation at other times is invalid. Please take a

picture to keep the result.

Notices:

 Please complete the whole test operation process within 30 minutes.

 After 10 minutes of reaction, please read the result immediately.

 When taking out the test strip, do not touch the reaction area and sample area to ensure the detection

accuracy.

Results Analysis

 Negative result: Only the C line of the test strip is colored.

 Positive result: Both C and T lines are colored.

 Invalid result: When the C line of the test strip is not colored, the reaction fails. Please check the following

possible reasons, and retest with a new test strip:

A. If the test strip packaging is damaged.

B. If the test strip is damp.

C. If the sample is too thick or too concentrated.

Notices:

1. Please read the results immediately within 10 minutes after the reaction, so as not to affect the accuracy

of the results due to time.

1. Samples with high target protein concentration will inhibit the normal colour development of T-line or

C-line band, please retest with a further dilution.

Cautions

1. This product is only for allergen testing on food or the environment, not for human body use.  
2. The buffer contained in this product is non-toxic; in order to ensure correct detection, please avoid dumping

and leakage during use.  

1. PriboStrip TM Rapid Test Strip is designed as a one-time use. Please do not re-use test strip.
2. Test strips are particularly sensitive to moisture, which can cause test strips to fail. Please keep them dry.  
3. Please do not use expired test strips to ensure test accuracy.  
4. This product is a qualitative test, and the results are only used for preliminary screening; the test strip has its own limit value. If the result is negative, it means no detection, but it does not mean that the test value is zero. If you need a more accurate value, please send to local health bureau or testing agency for confirmation.
5. All samples require dilution with buffer in this kit. Do not test the sample directly with the test strip.
6. Highly concentrated samples, food samples containing high level of polyphenols (e.g. coffee, tea, wine,
7. chocolate etc.), high lipids (e.g. peanut butter, oil, etc.) or dark food colouring (e.g. soy sauce) will affect the
8. results of the tests.
9. If the sample solution is too thick to cause the reagent invalid, please dilute the sample solution again, and
10. take a new set of test strips for testing.
